KOLAKATTAI – KADUBU

  • Rice flour – 1 cup

  • Water – ¾ cup

  • Jaggery – 1 cup

  • Fresh coconut – 1 cup

  • Cardamom pwd – ½ tsp

  • Boil water and keep adding the rice flour little at a time until it becomes thick.

  • Add a little water to the jaggery and heat it till it becomes thick.

  • Add coconut and cardamom pwd. The mixture should become like a ball.

  • Knead the rice flour by wetting hands a little.

  • Knead again with little oil nicely until it becomes soft.

  • Make small cups out of the dough.

  • Place a small ball of the jaggary mix in the centre.

  • Close the poornam with the dough.

  • Steam in idli vessel for 8-10 mins.
