ALMOND POORI

  • Plain flour – 1 cup

  • Sugar – 2 cups

  • Water – 1 cup

  • Butter – 3 tblsp

  • Rice flour –

  • Almond – 1 cup

  • Mix rice flour and plain flour.

  • Add butter and forms crumbs with the flour.

  • Soak almonds in hot water for 1 hour.

  • Peel the skin and grind the almonds to a paste.

  • Mix the almond paste with flour.

  • Add butter and forms crumbs with the flour.

  • Make dough balls and roll out into rotis.

  • Make 3 such rotis.

  • Apply salt to one, put another roti on top.

  • Apply salt on the roti and put one more roti on top.

  • Roll the rotis to form a big roll. Cut into pieces.

  • Form balls into pieces and roll them into poories.

  • Take the sugar. Add a little water and boil it.

  • Make sugar syrup.

  • Fry the poories and drop them into hot sugar syrup.

  • Keep the poories on a plate. And let it cool.

  • Store the poories in a box.
